Replacing DeVries

With starting defensive end Jared DeVries gone for the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon, coach Jim Schwartz isn’t certain how he will be replaced. He was expected to start at left end.
“We’ll start experimenting around trying to find the best combination of guys. The one thing is, the way we play our defensive end, there are not a whole lot of differences between the right and the left. With a lot of teams, the left is a little bit bigger and things like that, but our team isn’t a whole lot bigger on that side,’’ Schwartz said.
See Tuesday’s Oakland Press for more on the defensive line woes.
