Neither offensive coordinator Scott Linehan nor head coach Jim Schwartz would divulge the plan for which quarterback — veteran Daunte Culpepper or rookie Matthew Stafford — would start Saturday’s preseason opener.

“We haven’t told any position, any player, what their playing time is going to be, much less the quarterbacks,” Schwartz said. “So it’s not just the quarterbacks, and it’s not like we’re keeping it from you, or anything. It’s just part of the progress that I want us to make.”

Schwartz said he would announce the starter this afternoon.
