Join me for a chat on the Detroit Lions at 3 p.m. on Thursday. This is their bye week but at the halfway point of the season with a 1-7 record, we have plenty to discuss.The players have a long weekend and then will get back to work on Monday. They play the Packers at Green Bay on Nov. 15. The Lions have not won in Wisconsin (they used to play some games in Milwaukee) since 1991.

The good news is the Lions can't possibly lose this Sunday. The bad news is they have to travel to Green Bay next week. Hello 1-8. Then resurgent Oakland comes to town. Make that 1-9. Then Philly. How about 1-10?. Another date with the Packers? 1-11. The Lions will be lucky to wind up 3-13. Then you just know what they'll do. Draft another tight end that can't catch, or a tackle that can't block. It really has become a comedy show. Again.
It's about time, Mayhew and Lewand have mismanaged salaries,coaches and draft picks.
