ALLEN PARK — Calvin Johnson, who played at less than 100 percent on Sunday, did not practice today (Wednesday).
The Detroit Lions wide receiver injured his ankle in the game on Sept. 21.
“It’s definitely better than this time last week, so that’s a plus,’’ Johnson said prior to practice.
In Sunday’s win over the Jets, he had two catches for 12 yards.
Last week he sat out practice on Wednesday and Thursday and then was limited on Friday.
Running back Joique Bell also did not practice on Wednesday after he sustained a concussion on Sunday.
The Lions signed running back George Winn from the practice squad on Tuesday which seems to indicate that Bell won’t play Sunday.
Also missing was tight end Joe Fauria who sprained his ankle last week while chasing his puppy.
Defensive tackle Nick Fairley (knee) had limited practice along with defensive end Devin Taylor (knee).
Theo Riddick, who didn’t finish on Sunday with a hamstring, was working on the side at practice along with linebacker Travis Lewis (quad) and cornerback Cassius Vaughn (ankle).
Safety Don Carey (hamstring), who didn’t play on Sunday, returned to practice. Right tackle LaAdrian Waddle had a full practice.
