ALLEN PARK — The Lions have released their depth chart prior to the first regular season game, clearing up questions at a few positions.

Nick Fairley, who was demoted to second string in training camp, is listed as a starter at defensive tackle. 

LaAdrian Waddle, who was in a battle with Corey Hilliard, will start at right tackle.

Tahir Whitehead, who started the final two preseason games, will start at strongside linebacker.

The other starters were obvious including Darius Slay and Rashean Mathis at cornerback, along with Glover Quin and James Ihedigbo at safety.

Jim Caldwell was asked about the starters at his lunchtime press conference and would not answer.

This depth chart could change before the opener on Sept. 8 against the New York Giants at Ford Field.
