CB McCauley claimed; O'Connell traded
The Lions have claimed cornerback Marcus McCauley, who was waived by the Vikings, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. McCauley, who was a third-round pick in 2007, will be called upon to help the Lions secondary which is a weak spot on the team.
Quarterback Kevin OConnell, who the Lions claimed on waivers Tuesday, has been traded to the Jets according to ESPN. The compensation was unknown. OConnell was never involved in a Lions practice, but worked out for the team on Friday afternoon. He was one of four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster on Saturday night.
