Lions sign 4 undrafted rookies
The other rookies to sign contracts so far are Ball State center Dan Gerberry, Alabama-Birmingham kicker/punter Swayze Waters and, according to the Daily Northwestern, Northwestern defensive tackle John Gill.
The team should release a complete list of the undrafted rookies it signs either later today or tomorrow.

Maine OLB Andrew Downey
that's pretty sweet we got boldin's bro to come here. hopefully he can make the team and be better and more mature than he is.
Thanks for the update Michael.
As for Boldin, they gave him $5k to sign. Lions have a lot of No. 4 receivers, but he's got a shot. Calvin Johnson, Bryant Johnson and Derrick Williams are locks. Probably Ronald Curry, too. Beyond that there's a bunch of No. 4 receivers so he'd have to beat out Will Franklin and John Standeford.
Dave any chance can sign or would sign a leroy hill who was just made available by seatle
Hill. Yes, we need another OLB.
I asked Schwartz yesterday and he made it sound like it wasn't going to happen happen.
"The way it matches up with us, he's been an outside linebacker but we'll do our work," he said.
I don't know that the Lions could fit him under the cap either. He's a fine player, though.
^i'm not holding my breath. he's had off the field issues before too so i'm a little leery of that.
dave, could the lions, based on how they drafted yesterday, be quietly trying to clear out more of the previous regime players than we first thought?
I like some of the signings. Let's hope that this coaching staff can get more out of this team then the last staff could (or couldn't). I really want to believe in what the organization is selling to the public via Detroit media, but I heard the same thing 3 years ago and look where that got us. I'm not seeing a huge difference between the current decision making by Mayhew & Co. and the wisdom of the Millen brain trust.
I'm afraid to get too optimistic at the moment, so for now I'll take the "wait and see" approach.
