Don't read too much into that. Laurinaitis never missed a game or practice at Ohio State so he doesn't have injury concerns, and he's got four years worth of film so teams know what kind of player he is. I spoke with James on the phone yesterday and will have something on the blog after mini-camp next week.Paula Paschehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04351975379759661261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32476242.post-67686040512074210132009-04-18T10:50:00.000-04:002009-04-18T10:50:00.000-04:00Hey Dave...no Laurinaitis visit? All the other top OTs have been here. Ditto for Stafford over Sanchez.

Mike Mayock's the best in the business, but when he says he prefers Monroe and Sanchez that's how he fashions building a team. If I was putting together an organization I'd have similar leanings - the accurate, polished passer vs. the big gun and upside - but for what the Lions want to do focusing on Stafford and Smith makes sense.

As to the linemen, by the way, Monroe is considered the most polished of the top tackles, while Smith has greater upside. I like Smith a lot, but I still think Andre Smith could be the best tackle in the draft. If he matures, he's that type of talent.Paula Paschehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04351975379759661261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32476242.post-57056006750377471102009-04-17T22:15:00.000-04:002009-04-17T22:15:00.000-04:00according to rob rang of cbssports.com the lions h...according to rob rang of cbssports.com the lions have entered into negotiations with stafford, smith, and curry. guess monroe isn't in their plans or there some info missing. i'd rather have smith anyway.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32476242.post-65613068229281045402009-04-17T21:32:00.000-04:002009-04-17T21:32:00.000-04:00Mini-camp Day 1 notes should be up shortly.
